4) Visit ArticleXI.com!
Article XI of Virginia’s Constitution declared that one of our founding principles as a Commonwealth was to protect our natural resources, land, water and air from pollution and degradation. ArtilceXI.com is a new conservation community blog where organizations and individuals can read or post environmental news from around the state. Are we living up to the promise of our Constitution?
5) Contact the Media
One way of effectively engaging your elected officials is by raising the profile of conservation in the press. Letters-to-the-Editor and op-eds in your local paper can be very effective at getting the attention of elected officials and the public at large. To contact your local newspaper, tv or radio station, visit our Conservation eAction Virginia site.
